How to Make Southern Honey Deep Fried Chicken

Honey Dipped Chicken with Baked Mac and Cheese Please!
I know that most of my hubs thus far have been about my favorite subject, cupcakes but there is one dish that my family and I absolutely love that isn't cupcakes. It is my Southern honey dipped deep fried chicken. Doesn't it just sound delicious?
What You Will Need:
- 1 small chicken 2-3 lbs cut up
- 1 Tbsp salt
- 1 Tbsp pepper
- 2 Tbsp paprika
- 2 cups of flour
- 2 cups of honey
Begin by setting up your deep fryer and preheating the oil to 350 Degrees. Then take out your thawed chicken and cut it up into 8-10 pieces. In a small bowl; mix pepper, salt and paprika together. Rub the mix into each piece of chicken. In another bowl pour in the 2 cups of flour, dip and coat each piece of chicken in the flour and place it 'carefully' into the deep fryer. Deep fry for at least 20-25 min. or until chicken is cooked thoroughly. While the chicken is in the deep fryer, add the honey to a medium saucepan and warm on medium low heat. When the chicken is done carefully remove each piece of chicken from the deep fryer basket and dip into the warm honey. Serve immediately.
For an added southern taste, serve with greens and Home made baked mac and cheese. I will admit that when I make baked mac and cheese, I simply follow the directions on the back of the 'San Giorgio' elbow macaroni box. I know, I know... but for my own taste standards I do add a little something extra in the mix. Such as, an additional bag of cheese aside from the white cheddar. I prefer 1 8oz bag of shredded mozzarella (save a little to sprinkle on top). Then once it is ready to go into the oven I sprinkle the top with bread crumbs and a few (2) breadsticks crushed up. It gives that top just a little southern crunch before all the delicous cheese flavor. It is the perfect pairing to the Southern Honey Deep Fried Chicken. Enjoy!
